Ordinary to Extraordinary

â€¢ Series: Jesus at the Beach

Imagine an average, frustrating day at your job. The struggle is real, until a stranger shows up. And all the sudden, you are better at your job than you've ever been before. That's what happened one day for a few fisherman who met Jesus. After a miraculous catch, Jesus invited these men to become His disciples and start "fishing for people" instead. For every person who follows Him, Jesus reorients their lives around a new purpose--to go into the world to bring people to Him. Speaker: Nelson Guimaraes Scripture: Luke 5:1-11 Sermon Notes: #1 Disciples of Jesus trust Him even when it doesn't make sense. Challenge: - Identify one area in your ordinary life where God might be calling you to "let down your nets" - Commit to taking a step of obedience this week, even if it doesn't make sense. #2 Being a disciple of Jesus will come at a cost Challenge: - Identify one area where following Jesus might be costly in your life - Commit to having an honest conversation with God about your willingness to pay that cost #3 Becoming a disciple of Jesus should reorient your life's purpose Challenge: - Reflect on your current life purpose.
